Washington, DC, USA

Yehey!... As I have made mention two weeks ago. for my 42nd birthday, which will be on the 5th; my boss gave me a round trip air ticket to the US capital. if no delays on the flight and hassles on immigration :-)) i'll set my first step in DC at 12:45, June 1 The second US state after New York... I am so excited although a little sad Because Jim cannot come with me.,, But we have planned an alternate holiday for the two of us. And that is to OTTAWA, another capital... Hopefully, we can do it this coming month, June, my birthday month... Any suggestions as to the must "see" and must "do"... In a tight budget tho, so you know what I mean... E. X. C. I. T. E. D. By the way, Let's keep praying that may June will bring us More happiness, more blessings, and more friends...

Where is at least the "SORRY" Miss Canada Post

i left my earphone at home last weekend. and my friend was so kind enough to send it to me via Canada Post.

but before sending it, just to make sure; he showed it to the lady in the Post Office before closing it and put the stamps and hand it to her.

the mail arrived to me in this way:

"Walang problema po",
means "no problem...
unluckily that is not the case... :-(
torn and empty. i immediately send a text to him and tell him what happened. I was so disappointed.

and an hour after of the same day, I went to the Drugstore nearby where they have an office (I thought), and informed the lady on duty but she said it was only an outlet for the Post Office but not directly of Canada Post. She was so sad that it happened and gave me the hotline to file my complain. As soon as I went home, I open the Canada Post Website and see if it is possible To file a complain online. Yes it is possible! so i fill out the online complain form.

Unluckily I was not able to send a pic of the letter.

This morning I received a call from Canada Post asking me of the details of the enquiry. No "good morning" as how we are taught of when answering or making a call, or any greeting at all. No name too - just "I am from Canada Post"...

So the enquiry go on. And to a more disappointing note, it came out like it is solely our fault by sending it thru a regular letter envelope. Where, when I ask my friend about it, he told me that he showed it to the Post Office  personnel and he was ask to go on for it is sorted out in a box where it will be done manually. What's the truth about this, the lady on the phone told me that, all mails are sorted by machine unless, YOU PAY EXTRA FOR HAND SORTING...?

The amount of that Iphone4 earphone is irrelevant. In my meager salary, I can save and spare a little until I can buy a replacement. But? The "NO SORRY" call is a little bit disappointing. and blag, the phone "died"...

she even asked me in an arrogant voice - what do I need from Canada Post then? what should I answer? I have lost of words. It seems like a replacement is not possible because she keeps repeating it's our fault and if be sad about what happened, guess even "SORRY" or "APOLOGY" is close to impossible.

By the way, by the look of the envelope, having at least a meter of wire, 2 ear phones, 1 jack, 1 mic, and a control... don't you think even just a piece of it was left. Or at least ripped off the whole envelope because it was placed from end to end of the envelope...

Ah, let's not talk about it... the most serious part is - "WHERE IS THE -  SORRY sir this happened.!" and suggest the best way to send things like this next time... MANNERS PEOPLE, MANNERS.

thank you!

oh how i love seeing all of you
come by everyday
partaking in the food that
we have prepared for you.
all the fresh drinks
that you love to
sip and sip and sip
'til you are refreshed.

but as days go by
it is becoming more of a pain,
annoying sometimes;
as you guys seem to be
growing in numbers that i cannot count anymore.
it even came to a point
that i need to put food again and again and again
for you and your friends.
even the day is not  done yet,
compared to what it  is like before...

i almost feel like not doing it anymore
as it sometimes a hinder
to my day's work.

but when an accident
happened this morning.
i felt so guilty.
one of your friends is trying
to be mr. superman.
instead of drinking
from the bath that
we have prepared.
clean and fresh water.
he made an attempt to
go to the pool instead.

that attempt was not successful.
and as i saw him almost
lifeless floating in the pool.
my instinct drive me
to run to the pool house,
get the net and take him out of the water.
and lay him in safe.

minute by minute
i check him.
breaks my heart seeing him grasping for air.
the Pee and Poop
coming out.
and I saw him
with little strength left
slowly raising his head,
trying to open his eyes wide
looking at me,
as if thanking me
or maybe saying his prayer.

oh! what a feeling
seeing someone
trying to survive a mishap.
trying to fight
a near death accident.
i hope i can be brave like that too
if that ever happen to me.
and praying that there will be someone
to net me out of danger
and lay me in safe.

and just after an hour,
i saw him,
trying to jump
as if testing himself
and in all his might
fly to the bird bath
cleaning himself,
as if washing his soul from the uncertainty.

and in another ten minutes
he is flying again
like he is suppose to be.

thank God for giving me
the chance to save a bird today.

The Offer The Option and Thank You Video

i was offered
several times
of a great place to live...
House At Dusk, 1935, Edward Hopper
a mansion,
a palace,
a villa,
as we may call it.

but I am happy
that I did not grab the bait.

for I know,
for them to keep it,
i will be there all by myself,
most of the time.

I would rather be,
and I am glad to have chosen
our simple man's place
just enough space
for the two of us,
to live happy and

The Circus With the Yellow Clown, 1967, Marc Chagall

there is one simple
reason as to why
dates and events
are important to me...

we will never be
young forever...

i want to create
and have
wonderful memories
to look back
when we are already
old and grey..

a tribute to my heroine

The Meal, 1891, by Paul Gauguin
Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 117

patiently waiting as we are always,
all seated at the breakfast table
while mother is instructing
our house helpers on what to do and prepare;
the nourishment we all need
for our day in school.

our bags on the floor
packed with all the things we needed.
the assignments and homeworks
that mother also helped us to do,
last night before we went to bed.

great woman
i surely do understand
it takes a lot of energy
and patience
to raise eight children.

now even just days before
my 42nd birthday,
she still make sure
that everything is good with me,
just as how i was when i was
her little boy.

a day
is not enough
to thank you
for not just giving me life;
but for leading me
to the wonderful life
i am having now.

Happy Mother's Day
N   A  N   A   Y !...
you simply are the best!..

A Little Tribute to All Mothers

my salute and respect
to all mothers.
a day is not enough
to thank you
for all the sacrifices.

you are one of the two
greatest and foremost hero
of everyone!..

let us not only consider
who have children
the reason to celebrate this day...

think about
every father,
who lost his wife.
a sister or a brother,
who have lost their parent,
every single
man or woman;
who have nortured,
and raised a child.
you are all
part of the celebration...

Happy Mother's Day!

Manggagawang Pilipino

my apologies to my dearest readers.
today is the Philippine Labor Day,
and I have decided
that it is only proper to use
our national language, Filipino,
to express my respect to all
my co-Filipino Workers!

manggagawang Pilipino
ni hindi ka na ata napapansin
o napagtutuunan ng pansin.
nakakalungkot na sa araw-araw
tayong mga manggagawang Pilipino
ang siyang patuloy na nagdadala ng
pasanin ng ating inang bayan
para lamang patuloy itong lumaban
sa hirap ng kanyang pinagdaraanan.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

aking dalangin
na sana ay tunay na tayo
ay magkaisa
sa paghahanap ng tunay
na MakaDiyos,
at makataong lider.
Di lamang ng ating maliit
na pamayanan
kundi ng buong bansang Pilipinas.

Manggagawang "Overseas"
