Reposting an older post that I have last November 1, 2011, a picture taken by my friend Roland [link] during the Halloween Costume Street Party at Church Street, Toronto... seeing this new Photo Prompt from Magpie Tales, i thought that the idea is the same...
Crowded Isolation
I can hear voices,
screaming,
laughing
and even crying.
I can hear footsteps
and sense movements.
Suffocated,
Crowded...
Yet I feel alone
and see noone.
screaming,
laughing
and even crying.
I can hear footsteps
and sense movements.
Suffocated,
Crowded...
Yet I feel alone
and see noone.

your title makes a stretching imagery in mind.
ReplyDeletesimple lines, very well thought magpie tale.
:)
amazing how we can feel so alone in a crowd of people...it is quite common actually...and sad we can feel so disconnected...
ReplyDeleteAlone in a crowded room. I think this happens to a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteParengJJ,
ReplyDeleteIt is strange and it is ironic. We're in a crowd with lots of people around us but we are still alone. Great Magpie!
Hank
Yes, alone in a crowd is a dreadful feeling. Great magpie.
ReplyDeleteYou've really captured that feeling!
ReplyDeleteCrowds can be hard- this one definitely seemed
ReplyDeleteimpersonal! thanks.
Crowds are often the loneliest places to be in...
ReplyDeleteVery good take on the picture!
ReplyDeleteYes, crowds can be such lonely places. Great words.
ReplyDeleteI'm very familiar with that feeling.
ReplyDeleteYes, the same vibe ... yesterday and today.
ReplyDeleteGood that you re-posted this. Such loneliness is more intense than when there are no people around at all. Crowds frighten me. I guess it is my fear of the mob mentality and loss of control.
ReplyDeletePerfect feel for the prompt. Such a sad painting, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteFeeling alone in a crowd...I have been there..You have communicated the feeling well
ReplyDeleteYes, I understand this all too well....great writing JJ!!
ReplyDeleteoh my Jj...how much differene a year has made in your life....I still remember reading that and hurting for you.....now you are happy and making the noise and seeing everyone everwhere :- ) !!!
ReplyDeletePerfect response to the Magpie...lonely in a crowd.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is very much a sense of that crowded isolation in the painting.
ReplyDeleteDear JJ: "None" so alone as being alone in a crowd, very frightening; especially when one cannot "see" yet can "hear". How confusing the noise of others' happy communication making one feeling further alone. Deep and moving; an eye-opener! Chiccoreal
ReplyDeletePerfect interpretation.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Crowded isolation, indeed! That says it all.
ReplyDeleteA common experience used to embrace the prompt. Excellently done.
ReplyDeleteI see the similarities in the two pictures - clever.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you linked the two pictures. Nice.
ReplyDeletesometimes, the more people around us, the more we feel alone
