It was just over a year ago
Back when I was close to you
Back when we use night markets
As our rendesvouz.
Scattered Clothes, cd's, dvd's
Foot wears and even adult toys
Hanging ducks, chickens
And all kinds of meat too.
Roaming there is fun...
It is exciting!
Hiding ourselves over the seller's stalls
Avoiding people that we knew.
But at the end of it
The moment we sit in our secluded spot
As we stare, hug and kiss
Pays off every single minute of wait.

I like the cheer you found in hiding, and how "Hard to do it with iPad" mixed into the poem, as part of its spontaneous feel.

ReplyDeleteDear JJ: There is a definite thrilling feeling here- an exotic yet known locale and the excitment of a new romance;
ReplyDeleteas we stare hug and kiss
Really enjoyed those memories as I share these feelings along with you. Chiccoreal
Clandestine lends more heat than the sun. Nice!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I think your recent separation may have influenced the way you interpreted the image. In any case, it is a wonderful poem!
ReplyDeleteNight markets, food stalls, pirated discs ... laughter, fun - great piece!

We need some night markets in America,
ReplyDeletethat is way obvious. We kind of have some
but obviously none with the energy and
allure of your nights in Tapaei. A very
